Estimating Methodology Evaluations

Estimating Methodology Evaluations

Federal Pricing Group's tailored, unbiased Estimating Methodology Evaluations help clients asses their pricing posture and improve deployment of pricing resources to ensure compliant, competitive, and compelling price proposals.

For our clients looking to stay at the top of the game, or for contractors that have had to reevaluate their approach after a string of unsuccessful awards, FPG offers the following estimating methodology evaluation activities to develop strengths and eliminate weaknesses:
  • Organizational Efficiencies Assessment:  FPG reviews Client organizational structure regarding the generation of quotes and proposals. Areas for improvement are not a pre-developed solution for the Client to conform into, but are tailored to Client resources, budgets, and functional areas to identify improvements in all or one of the following pricing areas: timeliness, quality, training, compliance, and data analysis.
  • Pricing Tools and Processes:  FPG leverages pricing background to analyze existing pricing tools and processes. Areas examined:
               - Existing templates reviewed for areas that limit flexibility or could introduce errors
               - Analysis of re-use in templates and identification of changes to increase standardization and re-use
               - Analysis of analytic-based inputs and outputs that could better inform pricing decisions
  • Policies and Procedures: FPG analyzes policies and procedures against typical DCAA expectations of a GovCon of comparable size to the Client. FPG provides feedback on changes or full re-writes of Client documentation
  • Recent Unsuccessful Proposal(s):  FPG is an unbiased third party to perform a “postmortem” of all cost proposal components against the RFP requirements and awarded proposal information. FPG provides a clear line item breakout of strengths, weaknesses, and recommendations for improvement.
